Throughout my nine-year tenure as a Physician Assistant (PA), I have specialized in Psychiatry and Addiction Medicine, catering to patients across all age demographics within diverse healthcare environments. My dedication to professional growth led me to achieve a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Psychiatry in 2018.
Over the course of my career, I have had the privilege of delivering numerous lectures on psychiatric topics to both local and national organizations. Currently, I serve as a Continuing Education Reviewer for the Opioid Response Network, where I contribute to the dissemination of education and resources aimed at addressing the opioid epidemic among medical professionals.
As an Assistant Professor for the College of Saint Mary PA program in Omaha, Nebraska, I am deeply committed to shaping the next generation of PAs. This commitment extends beyond traditional classroom settings; I co-created and presented a virtual seminar titled “Benzodiazepines: Use, Dangers, and Clinical Considerations” in collaboration with three other esteemed PAs through the PA Foundation.
In addition to my educational endeavors, I have dedicated significant time to clinical precepting of PA students. My aim is not only to impart clinical knowledge but also to instill a deep understanding of crucial topics such as health equity, psychiatric stigma, and the imperative role of advocacy within our profession.
As a current member of the AAPA Commission of Diversity Equity and Inclusion, I am actively engaged in addressing health inequalities that contribute to disparities within healthcare. I firmly believe that PAs possess the leadership and potential to drive initiatives that dismantle healthcare disparities and enhance the overall mental and physical well-being of our society.
