AN UPDATE ON PHASED ROOM RELEASES
This was the first year that Shenandoah offered Priority Room Selection for incoming First Year students who paid their tuition deposit by April 8, 2024. These students were allowed to select from all available first year hall rooms. The success of this initiative means that there is a smaller number of first year students participating in General First Year Room Selection this year, and that many of the rooms that are normally released in phases during General First Year Room Selection have already been claimed.
With that being said, General First Year Room Selection will take place from June 12-14, rather than June 12-28, with new rooms being released each of the three days of room selection (June 12, 13, and 14). After June 14 at 5 p.m., all remaining available rooms will be viewable and anyone who has filled out the housing application can go in and select a room, even if they did not receive a room selection timeslot.
What residence halls should I expect to see during General First Year Room Selection?
-
- Racey – Plenty of rooms to choose from!
- Funkhouser – Plenty of rooms to choose from!
- Gore – Fully booked; no availability.
- University Inn – A very small amount of rooms remain, which will be released in equal amounts each of the three days of room selection. If this hall is your first choice, please take a look at Racey and Funkhouser to select a second option.
- Parker – A very small amount of rooms remain, which will be released in equal amounts each of the three days of room selection. If this hall is your first choice, please take a look at Racey and Funkhouser to select a second option.
